  ALM SERVICES or WHAT WE DO  
 

Most of our services are accessed on a drop-in basis and at the very heart of what we do has its foundation in friendship and welcome. The centre is open from Monday to Friday, providing tea, coffee and a place to meet.

Immigration Advice & General Casework. We provide Asylum advice at OISC level 3 as
well as referral to other organisations and solicitors.

General casework. We help with housing problems, missed NASS payments, accessing GPs and other situations which might arise

Furniture and Clothing. We provide free second-hand clothing, furniture and other
essential household goods. See leaflet for details

English Classes. We provide ESOL through our volunteers classes and Liverpool Community College have classes on site. Free English Classes in August

Destitution support. We have a limited budget for meeting emergency needs of asylum seekers and refugees. Read more about destitution support

Refugee mentoring. The Time Together project matches Refugees with local people to
help them integrate into the community. See Time Together

Social Support. We have a series of Well Being programmes which include Healthy Eating and Cooking, Allotments and Gardening, Oral Hygiene sessions and Bike repair and Cycle
club.

Social Events. We hold social events for occasions such as Refugee Week, Eid, Christmas and Newroz. More details below

We can provide speakers and materials on refugee issues including our destitution roadshow

All our services are free and confidential. We aim to create a friendly environment for asylum seekers and refugees of all faiths and cultures.

Visits to the centre from schools, faith groups and other organisations are actively encouraged as this brings people into contact with Asylum Seekers, dispeling many of the myths about this group of people.
